Rights of Passage is an anthology fictional feature-film made by first-time young black filmmakers who were born when Nelson Mandela became South Africa’s first democratically elected President and who entered young adulthood during the last years of Mandela’s remarkable life.
In a remote stretch of Patagonia, Argentina, there is, unbelievably, a 100- year-old community that speaks Afrikaans. This award-winning documentary is a portrait of the last days of the community and one family’s efforts to reconnect with South Africa.

Celludroid Film Festival comes to Johannesburg this January
Celludroid is South Africa’s only film festival dedicated to Science-Fiction, Animation and Fantasy.
The festival is another indie movie event by Cape Town based Flamedrop Productions, the same group behind the successful HorrorFest and Sound on Screen Music Film Festival.
This year’s Johannesburg selection of CELLUDROID comprises of some of the best films from previous festivals.
